Lifeline is one of the few telephone helplines that offers this level of out of hours service. With a team of experienced volunteer operators and supervisors the quality of the service delivered is underpinned by the work undertaken to achieve a quality standard and investment in regular volunteer training.

In early 2005 a new telephone system was installed to help manage calls more efficiently and could potentially increase our number of volunteers on duty each evening.

Lifeline remain a close partner to the Mental Health Helplines Partnership (MHHP) and through this group proposed changes in government policy towards funding mental health helplines are being closely monitored as well as developments in Department of Health funding.
